Grand Portage National Monument

Grand Portage is the site where the fur traders met up with the Ojibwe and transported their wares along the nine-mile trail from Lake Superior to bypass the falls known as the "grand portage. The boys think it would be fun to go back and hike the trail, camp out and then hike back...It is on our list of things to do.

Grand Marais

Grand Marais is a little artists community on the North Shore of Lake Superior. We visited in March so things were a little sleepy...locals only and not many tourists, but it is a really cute little town! I loved the art mosaic mural on the side of the whole foods store and Jack loved the Ben Franklin where he picked up his very own Filson type hunting hat!

The North Shore

The Elliott Family took a road trip to the "North Shore" over Spring Break and here are a couple of fun shots. We toured the University of Minnesota Duluth to see if Will might like to go there for College and he gave it a big thumbs up!

Photo a Day 61-72

Yes it was awesome. Perfect.

On March 12 at lunchtime, Will dressed up in his tux (actually Richard's tuxedo from 1990...we used to go to some pretty fun events and he needed to buy his own tux!)...He carried an old school boom box playing "All you need is love" by the Beetles. As reported, Will went around the high school lunch room looking for his sweet Nicole. When he found her, he got down on one knee, presented her with a rose and asked her to prom! She said yes and he raised his arms in the air! The crowd clapped loudly!

I texted Will and asked him if he asked Nicloe to prom and how it went. He replied:
Yes it was awesome. Perfect.
